[ECOWEEK 2012] [What's New] [ECOWEEK Speakers] [About ECOWEEK]

ECOWEEK 2012 URBAN INNOVATION + GREEN DESIGN
International Conference and Interdisciplinary 'Green' Design Workshops and hands-on urban interventions for Young & Established Architects, Designers, Landscape Architects, Engineers and graduate students!

Following a series of successful conferences and 'green' design workshops in Athens, Milano, Tel Aviv, Beit Jala, ande Thessaloniki, and before ECOWEEK takes off to Krakow (Poland), Rome (Italy), Copenhagen (Denmark), and Belgrade (Serbia), ECOWEEK takes place for the second time in Thessaloniki.

This year, for one more year ECOWEEK brings together ecologically minded-architects, designers, landscape architects, young professionals, and graduate students, in a week of creative thinking 'out of the box', cooperation, dialogue, intercultural exchange, networking, hard work and lots of fun!

ECOWEEK 2012 is a great opportunity for young professionals to learn about 'green' buildings, to hear and meet leading practicing professionals in the field, to learn from engineers and experts in the field, to train and gain experience in how to think, plan and design 'green' and affordable.

For the first time in 2012, ECOWEEK, in cooperation with the City of Thessaloniki and the ECOWEEK GREENHOUSE, creates an opportunity for hands-on light construction on real sites within the city, using recycled and reclaimed materials, leaving a 'green' imprint in a number of open spaces within the city of Thessaloniki!

ECOWEEK includes lectures, documentaries, training, interdisciplinary workshops, site visits, and more!

WHAT'S NEW in ECOWEEK 2012 in Thessaloniki?

(a) In cooperation with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, and the Organization Thessaloniki 2012, ECOWEEK 2012 workshops are assigned REAL PROJECTS, in REAL SITES, in consultation with a REAL 'CLIENT'. More details here.

(b) Selected projects from the ECOWEEK 2012 proposals will be further developed and some will be implemented in a larger scale!

(c) ECOWEEK 2012 includes hands-on workshops, which will spend time both designing AND building their projects, using recycled and recalimed materials!

(d) ECOWEEK 2012, in cooperation with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, will present the projects to the public. More details will be posted shortly.

(e) In parallel to ECOWEEK 2012, ECOWEEK is also starting the activity of the GREENHOUSE, a new initiative for innovation, social and environmental entrepreneurship. The GREENHOUSE is already active in Athens and Metamorfossi in Greece, and Holon and Jaffa in Israel. Starting in April 2012, the GREENHOUSE will also start active in Thessaloniki. More on the GREENHOUSE. More details will be posted shortly.

ECOWEEK 2012 is a great opportunity to work and network with young and established professionals from Thessaloniki and from around the world!
